There were reports last week that former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala sent a list of corrupt deals done during the past administration to President Buhari. Dr Okonjo-Iweala, released a statement through her media aide, Paul Nwabuikwu, discrediting the report. The statement below

The recent report by the integrity-challenged website, Saharareporters and some other media that former Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has handed over a “dossier of corrupt deals” perpetrated by the Jonathan administration to President Buhari is completely false and without foundation. This sponsored lie is part of the political attack by the pay masters of Saharareporters against Dr Okonjo-Iweala.
These attacks will continue given that these individuals are bent on a political and personal vendetta against her. Why are they angry? It is simply because she tried to bring integrity and transparency to the management of Nigeria’s public finances which obviously did not suit their interests. Saharareporters which has a long history of publishing falsehoods and distortions against Okonjo-Iweala is a paid tool of these individuals. Yobe: A sucide bomber attacked RCCG during service today and killed six

The Police in Yobe on Sunday have confirmed the killing of six persons after a suicide bomber blew himself up in a church in Potiskum.

The bomber had entered the uncompleted Redeemed Christian Church of God at 9:55 am in the Jigawa area on the outskirts of the city in Yobe state and detonated his explosives, killing the priest and four other worshipers which included a woman and her two children.  

Mr. Toyin Gbadegesin, told the News Agency of Nigeria:

“A male suicide bomber detonated a bomb at Redeem Church at Jigawa area of Potiskum, killing five on the spot. A female member of the church who sustained injuries also died while receiving treatment in the hospital.”

 He said the injured are receiving treatment at various health facilities in the area. 

A Witness Garba Manu told AFP the bomber arrived at the church on a motorised rickshaw disguised as a worshipper and detonated his explosives as soon as he entered the church.    

 “I saw when the bomber alighting from a motorised rickshaw and entering the church and as soon as he entered a loud explosion ripped through the church which is under construction. I saw him walk into the church and he didn’t raise any suspicion. Five worshippers, including three females and two males were in the church when the bomber entered and they were all killed. The dismembered body of the bomber was also recovered.''

Potiskum, the commercial hub of Yobe state, has been the site of multiple deadly attacks blamed on militant Islamist group Boko Haram. The town last suffered a twin suicide attack on June 15, in which 10 people were killed and several others injured.  No one has claimed responsibility for Sunday's attack.

Buhari Orders Arrest of His Wife’s Younger Brother over Fraud

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered Nigeria’s security agents to arrest his brother-in-law for allegedly extorting money from an unnamed businessman, a close confidante of the Nigerian leader told SR. He said the suspect, named Musa Yola, was the immediate younger brother of Buhari’s wife.

The source disclosed that Musa Yola, also addressed as “Alhaji Yola,” reportedly received N300m from a businessman after promising to provide his dupe with political access to secure an oil block from the Buhari administration.

According to our source, Buhari personally ordered last Monday night that Yola be produced before him in handcuffs in the company of the businessman he duped.

After telling the businessman that he was stupid to part with such significant cash when he should know that he, Buhari, would not participate in fraud, the President ordered agents of the State Security Services (SSS) attached to Aso Rock Villa to thoroughly investigate the scam.

He also ordered SSS to ensure that the businessman recovered his money from his brother-in-law.

An SSS source told Sahara Reporters, “Alhaji Yola has refunded the money to the affected businessman,” and added that: “Alhaji Yola has been released on bail.”

In the process of time, after all that is being planned by the current administration has matured, and bearing fruits, Nigerians will be able to determine who is serving them acceptably, and who has taken them for a ride. It is just a matter of time. Meanwhile, Metuh and his masters can only rue the missed opportunities to make salutary impact on the lives of Nigerians. They have a long road of regrets to travel,” the statement said.

Decomposed Body Of Kidnapped FUTA VC Found Inside Own Compound In Akure

The body of kidnapped former Vice-Chancellor of the ‎Federal University of Technology (FUTA), Prof. Albert Ilemobade has been found.

Sadly, his body was found this morning in his own compound in Akure at an abandoned store outside the main building where cables are been kept.  

The police have so far arrested two persons in connection with the killing, and his gate man that was earlier reported to have been kidnapped with him is now a major suspect.

A source told Sahara reporters that it was later discovered that the gate man and another accomplice decided to kill the elderly man just to steal his new car.

 The car had earlier been recovered by the police who found it in Ogun State.
