The Vice-Chancellor, Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State, Prof. Sola Fajana, has said that the institution is set to groom competent entrepreneurs who will proffer creative solutions to some of the challenges facing the country.
Fajana said this on Monday at a briefing to announce the third Think Entrepreneurship conference in Lagos.
According to him, the event, which will hold on May 20, is to give its students and members of the public self-sufficiency skills and capacity for self-employment.
He added that the institution looked forward to producing graduates who will use their skills to address issues bordering on climate and energy, food and security, health and politics.
Fajana said, “As the premier university of entrepreneurship in Nigeria, with the wide array of infrastructural facilities and hands-on skills at our skills acquisition centre, JABU intends to create ample opportunity for self-sufficiency by giving all its graduates the capacity for self-employment. By so doing, graduates of the university would be job creators and not job seekers.
“We aim to advance students’ skills and know-how to recognise, create and exploit new business opportunities in all kinds of companies. We focus on enhancing entrepreneurial key competencies and problem solving and analytical skills.
